Red Clover- These seeds are a must have for any deer hunter for use in food plots because they are hardy, fast growing and produce high quality food for deer and turkey. Red Clover is a crop that grows to approximately 18 inches in height and has flowers in compact clusters usually rose-pink in color.
Seeding Instructions- From late August through October or early spring when planting Red Clover alone in food plots, broadcast 20-25 lbs/acre into a well prepared soil. Lightly disk or drag to a depth of 1/4-1/2 inch.
Fertility- A soil test is always recommended. If pH is below 5.5 apply lime.
Forage Quality- Protein content from 12-16%. Forage yields of 2-4 tons/acre per year.
Wildlife Food Plot Advantages - Best clover in food plot mixes because it tolerates most shade in seedling stage.
